Emilie Legrand was one of the first kitchen employees at Macaron Parlour. Emilie, whose work attire consists of a large collection of cat tshirts, has visited cat cafes all over the world. So when she first heard Christina fantasizing about opening a cat café in NYC, she happily jumped on board as an investor and partner.
Emilie has had cats since a cute stray tabby adopted her when she was a kid. She fostered Kazu, a tiny and sickly 2 year-old, for a rescue group and never let her go. Mia joined the family as a companion for Kazu, but Kazu never really comprehended this decision. Fortunately, Mia is very good-natured and quite happy that Kazu tolerated her.
Emilie and her cats are originally from Paris. She and her husband, Joan, moved here a few years ago with both cats and they all have settled into the New York way of life since.
A few weeks after Kazu passed away in March 2015, Emilie adopted her first American cat, Ponyo, a teeny tiny pirate with lots of opinions.
Emilie holds a NYC certificate in Animal Care and Handling.
Christina Ha is the Co-Founder and head Pastry Chef at the popular patisserie, Macaron Parlour. A graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education Pastry & Baking Program and the Culinary Management Program, Christina is excited to combine her passion for baking and her adoration for cats with her latest endeavor, Meow Parlour.
Christina and her husband, Simon, are the proud parents of 5 cats. It all started when they found Mr. Socks on the street outside of their home. After bringing him in and spoiling him, they were hooked! Christina adopted Pickle and Bobo a few months later after seeing them at the annual NYC adoption event, Adoptapalooza.
Putty came to Christina's home as a foster kitten with her sisters, Taystee & Boo. She was quickly "adopted" by Bobo, who was devastated when she was returned to KittyKind's adoption center. He went on a hunger strike until Putty came back home and the two have been inseparable since.
Tia was originally a foster kitten who was only 9 ounces when she was found, despite being 2 months old. She was never brought back to the adoption center. She's just too cute.
