Why do we need foster homes?
Meow Parlour is fortunate to have an adoption space that allows people to meet cats in an open setting.
However, we also rely on our foster team to help cats who aren’t adoption ready or need an alternative environment.
Cats who aren’t adoption ready may be too young, under the weather, or need a safe space to recover post-surgery.
Sometimes cats need a vacation away from the café because it has become too busy for them, or they are uncomfortable surrounded by so many other cats. Think of your home as a ‘catbnb’!
At the moment, we are looking for experienced cat lovers who would be willing to look after cats with special needs, such as cats who take medicine or require socialization.
What is fostering like?
Fostering doesn’t have to take up a lot of space - usually foster cats stay in your bathroom, unless you have an extra room!
Fostering can be as short as a few days and as long as a few weeks depending on the situation.
Meow Parlour covers medical care as well as prescription food.
We will ask you to take photos and videos of your foster and give us updates about their behavior and personality to share with potential adopters and help us find a perfect match.
A foster coordinator will work with you every step of the way. It’s an easy way to save a life on your terms.
Please note applicants must be 21+.
